WHAT IS GOLD FILLED:

Gold-filled is made by heat- and pressure-bonding a thin layer of karat gold to a brass (or other base metal) core. Gold filled is higher quality than gold plated which is a thin layer of gold but is also an affordable alternative to solid gold. Gold filled can last a lifetime if taken care of properly and is also tarnish-free under normal conditions.
